i have learned some more songs. i pretty much just know the intros to songsexcept for green day. the solos are too hard. i know back in black, wish you were here by floyd, crazy train, nothing else matters, and i am trying to learn hells bells and thunderstruck, which involves no strumming whatsoever. ttyl and see u all next month.

i have finally met some new people here. apparently, its cool to just hang out in the hall lobby and say hey to random passers by. the people here are cool. i now know a kid that is gonna teach me guitar. he came to my room today and taught me the first chord of green day's good riddance, some jimi thing by dave matthews band, and the opening riff to back in black. it kicks ass. anyway, hopefully more people to meet tomorrow...

I just came back today from my very relaxingfarewell trip to savannah, georgia. It is a beautiful place there but highly crime ridden and not a very wise place to walk through at night. Besides all that, our hotel was great with complimentary bicycle pedi-cab service and reservations at the BEST restaurant i have ever been to: ALLIGATOR SOUL. Very pricey, but well worth the tab. I had a free sample of trout in a cabbage leaf and my entree' was a coconut mahi-mahi with cream sauce in a banana leaf and fried cornbread. it was tremendous. dessert was a creme broulee' with a savannah bee honey comb and fried bananas a.k.a. plaintains in maple pecan ice cream and of course a martini glass full of bacardi 151 75 proof rum dipped maraschino cherries. It was the highlight of our trip by far. Earlier, we took a trolley tourof the many squaresof the city. awesome little ecosystems with fountains and statues dedicated to the founder of james oglethorpe. anyway, to say the least, it was a great trip and a n extension of the already drawn out vacation of a summer i've had; not that that is a good thing. i have spoken to my roommate and he seems like a nice individual that i expect to get along well with. I start school monday finally but have a chance from thursday till then to stay on campus and meet new people, whicj will be nice. The other day i found a bag full of old books and pictures in our warehouse, which by the way is still full of crap from our old house. I was looking at old pictures of my dad from the firehouse, i found pics of my ex's and my eighth grade graduation. It really brought me back to a time in my life where i was actually carefree and felt like i was on top of the world. It also reminded me of how little it takes to change what you have known for so long and which you thought was permanent. Pictures from my first date at the oasis in front of wolfgang puck's in my flaming dice tee... it showed me a smile of nervousness/ joy that i have never seen again in a picture. this also was present in that homecoming of 03 where i mustered the courage finally to approach a girl and ask if she wanted this dance. fun times.... great times.... how much people change, huh? i all but became a recluse until senior year when i bloomed so to speak with many a social soiree on my agenda. I also had a nice car but didn't use it much because i had such a baseless foolish infatuation with it and the fear it would be ruined. I have had alot of stupid moments in high school, but then again many wise ones. while others daily ridiculed me and pissed me off to no end at lunch and after school, hitting my car with balls, hitting me with them, and calling me gay continously, it really affected me.As much as i tried to hide my feelings, they boiled up when i got home and on the way home.Many a day did i feel that i would do something criminal to them and be locked away forever or expelled, but i held out hope that it owuld pass when we graduated. This is one of the many reasons why i decided to go into law enforcement. If i can keep back, i can help others to or maybe help others going through the same deal. I'll stop my banter now. Back to the pictures. I came upon ones of me in the backyard at 10 or 11 at our old house and how serene the lake was and the tall trees across the lake that made the view worth it. I enjoyed this and pictured the new owners enjoying such a view..... then charley and wilma came to town. all the trees are gone and blue tarps pierce the view, while th lake was depleted of 3 feet of water and the grass turned brown. This and many other things i have experienced reaffirm the fact that change is constant, change is everywhere, change happens when u think it can never ruin what you have. Whether it be a new bf or gf to replace the old ones, if you have a good thing going and you think you will wake up each day to the same pleasure, it is gone. Savor what you have, laugh at yourself, preserve what you had. Don't snap at roommates mothers' or current flames who may not show you the attention you deserve, it will all come into view like the pieces of our life puzzle. It's a footprint in the sand perfectly symmetrical yet washed away next wave. I just take the good with the bad and leave it to me to make the decisions that will help me and keep me and my values in touch. Everyone asks me why police? why not? its a job and despite what people think, i believe in myself and my ability to help protect and serve the community. I hope i have enlightened/bored/thought-provoked/whatever to whoever reads my post. Goodnight and see you all some weekend. Take care y'all.
